Today we took a little field trip to Bear Country. They had a Mother's Day special ($25 off normal entrance fee), and we just couldn't pass that up!

Check out the horns on that bad boy. That has gotta give a guy a headache!!

The bears were all out and about. It was cute, a couple of them just paced back and forth by the cattle guards, as if to be keeping track of everyone coming and going!

What a cute little pose!

These two seemed to be having a bit of a scuffle.

I couldn't resist these two pics! Just a couple of "bear butts"!!

Actually, it was their big bear feet that I thought were cute!

Of course I really wanted to get some good pics with the boys, but Aiden had other plans. Every time we tried to sit and get together for one he'd take off screaming and throw a fit, so we improvised and got some on the move!

Thought we could sneak one in.....he obviously was having no part of it!

Big man T humored me and sat for a picture. Thanks bud!

Dad was even a big boy and sat with me while Tyson took the picture!

It looks like Aiden found a friend!

Hey, what do ya know, after about 20 tries we finally snuck one in that didn't turn out too bad. I think that might even be a "cheese" smile from the little bug!

After Bear Country we went to Canyon Lake Park for a little picnic lunch and play-time!

Trust me-I had to totally catch him off guard to get this one. We were actually playing peek-a-boo around the tree! Hey, whatever works.

Tyson made friends with another boy at the park and they had a blast playing with each other!
We spent about an hour playing before we had to come back home for naps (well, Aiden anyway).

Soccer Season!

It's soccer season again, so you know what that means!! You got it-really cruddy weather! The season started back in April and we've only been able to play 3 games so far. And even they were a bit chilly to watch! Oh well, Tyson loves it and has really come a long way since he first started 2 years ago!

It's never too early to start practicing!

Isn't he cute?!

He's so darn fast I can hardly keep up with him to get a picture!

Getting back on Defense. Today was probably the best weather (45 degrees with a breeze). He had a good game today and scored all 4 goals beating the yellow team 4-2! Go Bluebirds!!

Here's hoping for more nice soccer days to come!!

We "R" the Champions!!

Tuesday night was game six of the Ray Miron President's Cup championship, and the Dunbar family was lucky enough to go! Grandma Brenda came up for the game too (talk about a hockey nut!! HA!) Seriously, though, we all really enjoy watching the Rush, even Aiden gets in on all the cheers! The Rush were up 3 games to 2, so needless to say the place was going crazy with the excitement of the possibility of winning the cup in only the team's 2nd season in existence.

The Rush warming up before the game
Tyson has a thing about pyrotechnics (as in he is terrified by them!) As he says:"they hurt my ears." Anyway, him and I got to hang out down by the concession stands during the starting line-up, so as to not damage our ears by the loud noise. Thank goodness Dad was on point and captured these cool pictures for us to see.

This guy needs no introduction-Tyson's idol-Danny Battochio!! Also known as "Batman", therefore, explaining the below picture!

The Rush started out rough and were down 3-0 by the end of the first period. With their never say die attitude they came back, and with just over a minute left to go in the third period they tied it up and we were off to overtime!
It was grueling-just ask our children!!! Finally after over an hour of dealing with two very tired boys, (thanks a million Gram for walking the halls with Aiden) with only 32 seconds left in the 2nd overtime, the Rush scored the winning goal.... and the crowd went wild!!!!

Yep, you guessed it, Battochio...again!

Presentation of the Ray Miron Cup

It was 11:15 pm as we were leaving the arena. Just a few hours past our bedtime!!! It was great, though, and now all we have to do is somehow learn to live without hockey for the next 5 months! Talk about some serious withdrawal!!

What can I say, hockey is an exhausting sport!!! We may need the next few months to recover!!!
