Tyson's Halloween Party

Tyson's class had their Fall party today from 11:30-1:00 pm. It worked out perfect since Friday is my usual day off now. Aiden and I made sure to get our chores done this morning, so we could join in on the fun!
The first activity was Halloween BINGO using candy corn as markers.
They then split up into 5 groups and rotated around taking turns at the different activity centers.
First up for Tyson and his group...mummy making!
Getting wrapped up by his good buddy Cedar.
Aiden and I sat at the spider table to help with that craft, so little guy jumped in on the action.
What a throw! Pumpkin bean bag toss.
The party was a hit with all of the kids, and at the end they all got a gallon sized baggie of candy and juice. Mrs, Starkweather probably had her hands full for the last hour of school! :)

Breakfast with Mom

Wednesday morning Tyson's school sponsored "Breakfast with Mom", so Tyson got to show me the ropes of going through the lunch line to get our scones and juice for breakfast. It was a lot of fun, and next month Dad gets to go to "Doughnuts with Dad".

Dinner with the Rush!

Tuesday night was the annual dinner with the Rush where they introduce the new season's team and you get to pick up your season tickets. We took the plunge this season and are sharing season tickets with another couple. We are very excited and can't wait for the season to start.
Grimaldi...he was signed from Colorado...and last year he was by far the most disliked by "all" Rush fans...but he's on our side now, so of course we already love him! :) I'm pretty sure they signed him to take the place of Colt King...this guy loves to fight!
Riley Weslowski
Team Captain-Scott Wray
The two goalies- Tim Born and our man-Danny (Batman) Battachio
Danny signing Tyson's ticket book.
Conrad Reeder is probably Aiden's favorite player. I'm sure it helps that every time he scored last year they sang "Oh Conrad we love you" from Bye Bye Birdie. Aiden loves that song. He also sprints out on to the ice and flips over onto his head to try and make a goal on the other end of the ice if he gets one of the stars of the game. Very entertaining...oh...and he always gives the boys knuckles when we see him!
Tonight is their first home game of the regular season, but the other couple is going. We get to go tomorrow night and have Halloween with the Rush. We can hardly wait!!!

Dan and Megan's Wedding

October 15th we helped Aunt Megan celebrate her marriage to Dan! We went down for the weekend and we had a ton of fun! Cade brought his BB gun, and Tyson was a quick study (he had never shot a gun before) and had a blast. They shot pop cans...and perhaps aimed at a few birds. Not to worry, though, no birds were harmed...still need a little practice on our aiming :)

Aiden hangin out watching the big boys shoot the gun.
The wedding was at a local steak house and everyone needed to be there by 1pm to make sure Poppy would have enough time to get all of the pictures done before the wedding at 4pm.
Just hangin out!
Our attempt at a family picture...
as you can see...Aiden just loves the camera...still!!
The Farewells
The beautiful bride and husband to be.
Dan had his best friend Tracey stand up with him, and Megan had her best friend Keeley stand with her.
Another try... Aiden was a bit worn out from the late night Friday and busy Saturday, so was a bit "owly" during some of the pictures.
Aunt Jessie with her date for the wedding. :)

All 5 of the "Dunbar kids"...
and with Grammy and Poppy.
It's getting pretty tough to get the "entire" family in a picture, but we gave it our best try!

Tyson and Cade giving Aunt Megan some sugar!
Their adorable wedding cake. After dinner it was time for some dancing and good times!

Aiden became a maniac. He apparently got his second wind after he ate because he was all over the place dancing and singing his little heart out. I believe the favorite of the night was "Who let the dogs out!"
Lex and Scott putting on a show...

Tyson and Cade testing their strength at a little friendly arm wrestling. By 8pm everyone was exhausted, so we packed up everything and headed back to Grammy and Poppy's. The ceremony and reception were wonderful, and we all had a great time!
Sunday morning before we headed back home the boys had to take the lawn mower for a spin!
Tyson kept bumping the clutch with his foot and putting it in neutral, so Levi gave them a little push to finish off the ride.
As always...the weekend went by way to fast, but we definitely enjoyed every minute of it. Congratulations Dan and Megan!

Giant Pumpkin Festival

A couple weeks ago we went in to check out the 3rd annual Giant Pumpkin Festival in downtown Rapid City. They had a lot of fun activities for the kids to do as well as vendors selling pumpkins, apples, gords, and all things fall!
Working with some homemade play dough.
Making a Jack-o-lantern mask.

Ooooh.....scary!
Aiden had to ride the "choo-choo", of course.

Decorating pumpkins
It was very warm that day, and Aiden chose to pass on the pumpkin decorating and took a break in the shade with Dad.
It was a long day...we arrived at the festival around 11 am. We even watched Charlie Brown and the Great Pumpkin at the Elks Theatre (they had a special where tickets were just $1.oo), and then watched the SDSM&T homecoming parade that went through downtown before heading to go do some weekend shopping. We ended the day with supper at On the Border. Talk about a super fun...super busy...super tiring day! We walked into the house that night at around 7pm...exhausted...and ready for bed!
