Murder Mystery Party

Last night Scott and I went to our first ever "murder mystery party". Michelle, a gal I work with, hosted it and did an amazing job with the decorations and setting it all up. The party was a casino- based theme and the characters were fun...not only to dress up as, but to see everyone else in their costume/character.

Scott was a bartender and I was a waitress.
Everyone did a great job at dressing and playing the part of their character! It was a ton of fun!

After the killer had been revealed...which, by the way, I was the only one who guessed the right one..we all continued to play cards, visit, and laugh...a lot! Scott was voted "best actor"! He was busy serving up drinks left and right!

At the end of the evening we all chipped in and cleaned up the place in record time! We are already planning on making this a yearly event with talks of next year either being an "island" or "pirate" theme...I can't wait!! We got home around 11:30pm and Grandma was having a slumber party with the boys on the hida-bed in the living room...that is if you call the boys sprawled out on the bed with Grandma in the chair a slumber party:) Thanks Grandma for hanging with the boys so we could go out for the night!

Trick or Treat!

Mason came over on Halloween night to go trick-or-treating with the boys. Cooper was feeling a bit under the weather, so he stayed home to snuggle with Grandma Peg. Marla brought over pizza, and the boys shoveled it in so they could get on the road and get some candy!
A quick picture before we got on our way...Oh Aiden...gotta love that smile! :)
Mason brought his wagon and enjoyed the ride...he made sure and hopped back in between every house... no matter if it was right next door!
The boys had a blast!! Aiden and Mason really "got it" this year and they were running up to every door!

Aiden and Mason got pooped out about 3/4 of the way through the loop, so Marla and Tony took off back home. Aiden and I made it through a couple more houses before we headed back to the house and left Dad and Tyson to finish up the remaining houses. Aiden thought he was big man in town when we got home, because he was able to hand out our candy to the kids that came to our door.
Aiden's loot!
Tyson's stash!
It was an absolutely gorgeous night, so the boys ended up just sitting on the deck to greet the tricker treaters. They had to pose with their pumpkins and show off their "scary faces"!
Oh look....even Dad got in on the action! It was a great Halloween, and a week later we are still snacking on all of the candy they got! The dentist is going to love us at our next check up! :)

Halloween with the Rush!

Saturday was a busy day! Tyson had open hockey in the morning and we carved pumpkins before heading in to the Rush game that night! Aiden was completely uninterested in carving his pumpkin, but Tyson jumped right in to get the job done.

He's a bit grossed out by the whole cleaning out the seeds thing...but he stayed tough and got it done!
I didn't get a picture, but Aiden was playing games on the computer during the entire time Tyson was carving. Oh well, there is always next year! After a quick supper it was off to cheer on the Rush.
Since Aiden didn't get any pictures during the pumpkin carving, he hammed it up for the camera on the way in to town.
It was the special "Halloween with the Rush" game, so there were a lot of people in costumes, and the boys were right there with them!
Not to be left out...
Dad tried out the scary mask! It was a great game, and the Rush pulled out a victory 5-4!!
