3 on 3 Hockey

The day has finally come...Tyson's 3 on 3 hockey camp!  He was so excited to get back on the ice!  His legs were a bit shaky to start, but it didn't take long before he was skating all around handling the puck like a pro!

Sadly...it will only be 6 weeks long, but we will soak it up all we can and enjoy every minute!!

Weekend at Grandma's

We went down to Grandma Brenda's for the weekend to help cousin Gui celebrate his graduation from high school.  The weekend flew by, but not before we were able to help out with a lot of yard work and fun!

Enjoying some homemade Popsicles

Watering the geraniums we planted at Grandpa Lyle's grave

The weekend wasn't all work....nope...you know we went to the Drug Store to help Grandma use up her quarters:)

Not quite sure what he's doing here:)

We had a wonderful weekend, and it was great to see everyone!

Rally Day!

Tyson had his annual Rally day on Friday.  I was excited to get to watch him this year since I had the day off, but he insisted that it would be "really cool" if I volunteered to help.  So....Aiden and I volunteered to help with the relay event...hence sitting at that 1 event for the entire 3 hours...therefore, explaining why I have very few pictures from the day:)

 Look at him go!!

My helper

They had a 20 minute break half way through the events.  Carsyn...Tyson's good buddy/classmate/and DayCare lady's daugher talked Aiden into going with them for the second half of the events.  I was a bit nervous as to whether he would freak out when he realized I was nowhere close to him...but to my pleasant surprise...I found him playing right along with all of the kids after the events were finished and I made my way back over to the playground.  My little boys is growing up:)

After a quick hamburger picnic on the lawn, Aiden and I came home while Tyson finished up his school day.  Even though I didn't get to watch Tyson do all of the events I was happy that him and his brother had a great time together!

Mother's Day

We have made it a bit of a tradition to head to Bear Country and Reptile Gardens for Mother's Day.  Bear Country offers half off their entrance fee, and Reptile Gardens lets Mothers in for free as well as giving everyone a season pass...and the boys and I certainly get our money's worth out of them by the end of the summer! :)  Grandma Brenda came up again this year, and Tony, Marla, and the boys went as well.  First stop...Bear Country.

My camera somehow ate the first half of the photos during the drive through Bear Country...so you'll just have to use your imagination to see the Elk, Reindeer, and White snow fox:)

The bears are probably everyone's favorite!

Loungin around

Posing for the camera

After you finish with the drive, they have an area with some baby animals that you can walk around and see.  This pretty thing greets you as you walk in.

what a cutie!

After Bear Country we went straight to Reptile Gardens to check out the Alligators and snakes!!

watching the gator show

waiting in line to pet Fluffy

Fluffy....the baby alligator

Next it was on to the snake show.

The boys took a quick ride on the...dinosaur before heading back in to town.

We finished off the day with a yummy lunch of chips and salsa and some good ole' fashion Mexican.  Grandma Brenda and I even got a carnation and free fried ice cream for Mother's Day!  We had a great day and I enjoyed getting to spend it with my family!

Tyson's special Mother's Day present!

Tyson was so excited to give me his special Mother's Day gift that he had made at school!  He had made a bookmark with his picture on it and a cute little poem on the back.

"Dear Mom,
I think of all
The things you do,
And then I know
Why I love you.
You make me breakfast,
You wash my clothes,
You take me places
I want to go.
You teach me things,
You read to me.
You help me become
What I want to be.
You sing me songs,
You hold me tight.
You hold my hand
In the dark, at night.
In all the world
I know it's true,
There is no mom
Just like You!
Happy Mother's Day!
Love,"
He also filled out a special "About Mom" paper that was too cute!

My mom is the best mom in the whole world because:  i love my mom because shes a good helper.
One thing my mom can do really well is:  My mom is a good cooke.  She cooks really good at making
It makes me laugh when my mom:  She tikels me.  she is funny.  Shes the funniest in my family
My mom can really cook:  egg omlets
but I'm not crazy about her:  bets
My mom works very hard to:  nersing {nursing}
I like it when my mom wears: sunglasis
My favorite thing to do with m mom is:  playing uno and candyland because she douse
I really love my mom because:  really nice shes a good helper.

I had him read me his responses because it was a bit hard to read with all of his beautiful coloring he did on top of it! :)  It was interesting to find out he thinks I'm the funniest in the family...not sure if that's a good thing or not:)  I also had to call him out on the whole "not crazy about my bets (aka-beets)...I have never ever...ever made beets before, nor has he ever eaten one to my knowledge!:)
Maybe that means he likes everything I cook:)  I can dream, can't I?! :)

Thank-you Tyson for the beautiful and thoughtful gifts!  They mean soooo much to me!  Love you, buddy!

Shrine Circus

The Shrine Circus was in town and friend's of ours had 2 free youth tickets, so since it had been a couple years since we had taken the boys...off to the Circus we went!  Scott went with Poppy down to Aunt Jessie's last track meet in Sioux Falls, so it was just the boys and me.  We met Aunt Marla, Uncle Tony, Mason, and Cooper there.

My special date with my 2 favorite boys!

Mason is on there somewhere...Tyson and Aiden decided to just watch from the stands! :)

The tigers were one of the boys favorite acts.

Playing leap frog!

Motorcycles riding on a tight rope with 2 ladies hanging below

Blurry...but this dog was a jumping champion

The last act...as always....another favorite....the elephants!!!

sooooo cute!!!

We went to the 7 pm show on Friday night, so it was around 9:30pm by the time it was over.  The boys were exhausted...I think Aiden was asleep before we even made it out of the parking lot! :)  They had a blast, though.  In fact, Aiden has asked several times when the Circus is coming back....only a short 360 some odd days to go buddy!:)
