Silly boy!

Aiden is my big helper now on Friday's (our normal day off), since Tyson  has started back to school.  I am apparently pretty boring, because I found him coming out from our bedroom sporting my workout top and Dad's work pants.  He decided to resort to a little game of "dress up"...much to his and my amusement! :)

 

First Day of School

 

Tyson started 2nd grade this year...he is growing up way too fast!  He wanted me to drive him to school the first day.  When we got to school I asked him if he wanted me to park so I could walk up with him, and he calmly replied:  "No...just drop me off...I'll be O.K."  I had to hold back the tears...he has come sooo far over the past 2 years!

 

Here's to having a great year buddy!  We love you!

Picnic with the Rush

The Rush held their annual picnic for the season ticket holders, so of course we took advantage of getting to hang out with "the boys" for a little while:)  They had little pedal go cart things and a fun jousting area that we made sure to check out!

After almost 3 hours we decided to call it a day...and start the countdown to the official start of the season!  Trust me...it can't come soon enough!

 

Central States Fair

 

The boys and I decided to check out the fair on my day off!  They had a special that day where wrist bands were only $18 and we just couldn't pass it up!  We got there around 12:30pm and started with the rides right away!

Aiden loved these little motorcycles.  They also had ski boats and cars.  He was perfectly content going between all of them.  Tyson was wanting to do more of the bigger rides, so when Tony, Marla, and the boys got there at 3pm he stayed with them and did some of the big ones with Tony and Mason.

The Ferris wheel was also out of Aiden's comfort zone, but these 4 boys loved it!  Finally after over 5 hours in the heat and riding the rides we called it a day and met Dad at Perkin's for supper before heading home. 

Dirt Track Party

Tyson had been begging to have his birthday party at the dirt track since the day Dad took him and Aiden there a few weeks ago.  He wanted to be able to hang out with some of his hockey buddies that we haven't seen in several weeks, so the invites went out for a birthday bash at the dirt track!  Tyson picked "bug" cupcakes to make and did a great job of helping me decorate them all.  Aiden even made one all by himself. Bet you can never guess which one? :)

It was a perfect day...not too hot with a nice breeze.

About 50% of the time they didn't even ride their bikes.  They discovered it was just as much fun running up and down the hills.

After an hour of riding/playing it was time for pizza.

After pizza he was able to show off his cupcakes and everyone enjoyed cupcakes and ice cream.

The kids had a blast and Tyson really enjoyed getting to hang out with so many of his good friends!

 After the party we came home and got ready for Grandma and Mason and Cooper to come for supper and some more birthday celebration!  Tony and Marla were on a 4-wheeling trip, so Grandma was watching the boys for the weekend.

Aiden and Mason even got a little something from Grandma.  Aiden got to work right away.

After supper we went out front and let the boys run off some energy before more cake and ice cream!
