Don't Judge!!

So this is what our days have become! Endless hours of hockey ( no matter how we have to improvise) Check out all of the accessories:
1. Helmet (a.k.a-baseball helmet)
2. Mouth guard (a.k.a-halloween teeth)
3. Pads (a.k.a-shinn guards from soccer)
4. Hockey stick (a.k.a-baseball bat)
5. Gloves (a.k.a- well...gloves)

Look out-it's getting serious!!

O.K.- Maybe not!!
And not to be outdone.....................

That's right- the little guy has to get in on the action too! I believe the accessories are self explanatory!

For those who didn't notice-yes, that is hockey on TV in the background!! Come on now-don't judge!

Mason's Park!!

We're still here!! I got to looking and it's been forever since I've updated our blog. Time has been flying by! Well today was my day off, so the boys and I ran up to cousin Mason's house and got to check out his new play area Uncle Tony is making him. It was beautiful out and the boys had a ton of fun.

It has a cute little slide the the little guys (and even the big guy) sure seemed to enjoy!

There is a thick layer of mulch just perfect for loading in Mason's trucks!

Ooooh! what a big boy coming down the slide!

" Team work-what's gonna work?" Sorry, just a little Wonder Pets there for ya!

The boys also enjoyed raking and spreading out the mulch-such good helpers!

Mason was all about having "Ty-Ty" pull him in the wagon. Noone else would do-not even Mom. He called for Ty-Ty until he finally came over and took him a few laps around the driveway. Aiden wasn't so sure about it! I guess he knew his brother gave a bit of a wild ride which was right up Mason's alley-just not for my cautious little Aiden!

Here's more his speed-the parked golf cart!!

Aunt Marla took us all for a ride on the four wheeler which was super fun!! We spent all morning outside and then even got to eat lunch with them before coming home. The boys all had a lot of fun, and it was really nice to get them all together. With our different schedules it sure hasn't happened as much as we would like. Hopefully this summer we will be able to have many more fun playdates together!

Hockey Heart!!

Tonight was the big night at the ice rink. Ever since he went to his first hockey game he has been obsessed with playing hockey. Mom and Dad thought it might be a good idea to learn how to skate first before we just jumped into hockey, so he bought a pair of ice skates last week with some of his Christmas money and was relentless all week about getting to the rink to try them out.

This was our first step out on the ice. He started with the small walker, but quickly found the big ones to work much better for him.

As for this little guy, this was as close as he got to ice skating. Instead, him and mom ran up and down the ramp to the rink about 50 times.

Talk about a trooper, he spent 90% of the time on his knees, back, or butt, but would always jump right up and keep on going. After about 30 minutes he came over to the side, so I figured he was probably exhausted and ready to go home (that or completely frustrated from falling down so much). NOPE-not our Tyson- instead he just wanted to make sure I saw: "how good I'm doing Mom!!"

There was no such thing as taking it slow. Instead, those legs were spinning just as fast as they could. It was amazing how much he improved in the 60 minutes he was out on the ice. There was a couple there skating that were quite impressed with his determination. As they said: "he has a lot of heart." I couldn't agree more!!

After skating straight for 60 minutes, everyone had to take a break for the Zamboni to come out and clean up the ice. Since it was 8pm we figured it was a good time to go home to get the boys to bed. Tyson was devastated that we had to leave. Lets just say there were tears shed, not to mention incessant begging to go back tomorrow to do it all again. We'll have to see.....

Snow much fun!!

Today was absolutely beautiful, and we made sure to enjoy it! Grace and Avery got to come over this afternoon and go sledding. The sun on the snow helped turn it into an icy track, and the kids had a blast going down the hill across from our house.

Aiden was still napping when the girls first got here, so he just got in on the tail end of the fun, but he was dressed and ready to go.

After quite a while sledding the kids decided they were ready to come back to the house and build some snowmen.

Tadaa!!! Avery got too cold towards the end and went inside with Aiden, but these two were very proud to show off their work!!

Carmichael Christmas 2009!

New Year's Eve we went up to Aunt Marla's and Uncle Tony's to celebrate Christmas with the rest of our family. Grandma, Great Grandma and Grandpa, Uncle Jason, Aunt Janet, Spencer, and Drew were all there. We ate a lot of food and opened a million presents (thanks to Grandma). I think she may have a bit of a problem!! Each of the boys had at least 20 presents to open from her. I lost count quite frankly! It was pure chaos-wrapping paper was a flyin!

Tyson brought up his new Wii, and the boys were able to put it to good use while they waited to open up presents!
Aiden and Mason had their own picnic table to enjoy their Christmas dinner!

Notice how they both somehow ended up at the "big kids" table!

CHEESE!

This is just a fraction of the presents that Grandma Brenda brought up. I'm surprised they all fit in her car!

Dad kept busy in the corner trying to keep all the presents straight.

Auntie J.J. (aka Aunt Janet) made the boys these cute dinosaur blankets. They were adorable!

The boys were quick to try out Spencer's new Army toy from Aunt Marla and Uncle Tony.

Scrub a dub dub three boys in a tub!

The boys came up with their own little game with the UNO cards.

Yo homie yo!!
All in all the Christmas Holiday treated the Dunbar family well. Most importantly, we were able to spend it enjoying time with our family. Between playing with our cousins and family in Torrington to going up the hill to cousin Mason's- we had a great time. With 2009 behind us -we look ahead with excitement on what 2010 will hold. Happy New Year!!!
