Meeting baby Barrett!

We had been counting the days from Barrett's arrival to when we could go down to Grammy and Poppy's to see him!  Tyson was soooo excited to see him, and I think he was pretty surprised at just how tiny he was!  After all he was only 10 days old when we were there!

Getting his first up close look at adorable Barret!

Getting some loves from Uncle Skippy
It was very hot there on Saturday, so Aunt Jean bought a tarp and the kids enjoyed some good ole fashion Slip n Slide fun!!!
Cade and Tyson taking a crack at it

Kyra with the straight shot down!

Get ready.....get set.....go!!!

Tight race between Kyra and Cade with Aiden bringing up the rear!

Watch out Kyra...looks like Aiden is coming right for you!!

The slip n slide kept them busy for a long time, and there may have even been some dish soap added by the end of it all!  To say they all had a blast would be an understatement!  Aunt Jean also bought some fireworks (she's the coolest!), so after supper we headed out to have some fun!
Aiden has always been SUPER sensitive to loud noises and fireworks are the worst!  Can't have much fun with your hands on your ears the whole time!

Trying to hang in there and light one....
Thankfully Aunt Abby came to the rescue and gave Aiden Poppy's super duty headphones to wear!  They were like magic!!

Check out that happy boy!!!!

These 2 were full of all sorts of ideas....

Lighting firecrackers and then letting them explode inside the orange cones

Poppy showed them the pop can trick!  Place a firecracker under a pop can...light...and up flies the pop can when the firecracker explodes!

Getting some assistance from Poppy

Aiden had a blast lighting fireworks just like the big boys!  Thank goodness for super duty head phones!!
The weekend flew by and before we knew it Sunday rolled around and it was time to head back home.  I think we all could have stay and loved on Barrett forever...especially big cousin Tyson!  We can't wait til we get to give him cuddles again!

Giving last minutes loves before heading home...:(

Happy Father's Day!

We have sorta started a tradition of going miniature golfing on Father's Day,and this year was no different.  Dad picked Perkin's for lunch before the big game, and then it was off for some golfin fun!

Aiden was taking the game very seriously as you can see!

such unique form:)

Checking out the hole...and planning their strategy

I can't say that Dad won the game....but he is #1 in our hearts! :)  Seriously, though, thank-you for being such an amazing father to our boys!  They are so lucky to have you as their role model...and I am very aware how lucky I am to have you as my husband!  We love you!!  Happy Father's Day!!

Mud Run

Scott ran in his first ever mud run, and I think he is officially addicted!  He ran on a team with Tara (the boys' babysitter), Codi Rieb,  and Randy (a friend of the Rieb's)

Before the big race....Tara, Randy, Scott, Cody with Taylee, and Randy's son (who was running as a single)

Scott with 2 of his biggest fans...his 3rd was taking the picture! :)

Getting lined up for the starting gun

climbing over one of the first obstacles

Tara and Scott led the way for their team...they killed it!

Going through the cargo net

Navigating 1 of the many "mud holes"

Nearing the finish line...

almost there...

at the finish line....Great job honey!!

The team in all their glory!
Scott had a great race, and I think he surprised himself with how well he did!  He is already researching in to more mud runs, and his loving support group will be there to cheer for him every step of the way!

Weekend at Aunt Amy and Uncle Terry's

The boys and I took Grandma Brenda down to Howard to Aunt Amy and Uncle Terry's for a mini get-a-way.  We didn't leave until Sunday after Marla's half marathon, but then were able to stay until Tuesday.  Unfortunately, we had to leave Dad at home to work.:(  The boys wasted no time hopping in the hot tub when we got in Sunday evening.

Had to take this picture for evidence...the boys were actually able to convince Grandma Brenda to join us in the hot tub.  Even though she wouldn't totally admit it...I think she really did enjoy it:)
Before dark, Amy got out the Ranger for a little cruise.  After a quick demonstration ride Tyson was ready to get behind the wheel...and drove like a pro!

coming up the driveway

Tyson wanted to show me his skills, so I hopped in for a quick ride.
Check out the ham on the left!)

Tyson doesn't look like he's having any fun at all. :)

Monday morning we drove down to Sioux Falls to check out the zoo.  We were there for over 3 hours and saw all sorts of fun animals.  It was a lot of walking...and eventually caught up with the boys...
Pretty peacock

The snow monkeys were Aiden's favorite...homely little guys that they were! :)

These guys were my favorites, but by the time we made it over to them the boys were pretty much over the whole deal!

Grandma's favorite

Aunt Amy bought the boys a carousel ride before we left.  Not sure where the picture of Aiden went, but I swear he got a ride too...he was on the big red hen! :)
As evidence in the below photo...the boys were done with it by the time of this picture as we were leaving.  Note to self...next time get a family pic at the beginning. :)
Aunt Amy knows how to cheer grumpy boys up, though.  She treated us all to lunch and games at Chuck E. Cheese's!  Talk about bonus points for her!! :)  After lunch we did some shopping around town.  We didn't make it back to the house until close to 8pm.  The boys hopped in the hot tub again, and it was straight to bed....they were exhausted.  We had lunch with Aunt Amy on Tuesday, and she had to run and get a part for Uncle Terry just 30 miles or so from Chamberlain, so the boys and Grandma rode with her  while I had the Jeep to myself.  They hopped over with me when Amy went to get the part and we dropped Grandma off at Wall and headed straight home to see Dad and tell him of all of our adventures!
Thanks again Aunt Amy and Uncle Terry for an awesome weekend!  We all had a blast and can't wait to come down again!
