Mite Jamboree

 

 I can't believe another season of hockey has come to an end!  It seems like just yesterday the boys were heading back out on to the ice to start another season...that was over 5 months ago, and last weekend they completed another season with the Mite Jamboree at the Thunderdome! :(  Both boys continue to amaze us with their love for the game, and amazing improvements they make every year!  Aiden has grown leaps and bounds as a hockey player.  It's hard to believe he couldn't even stand on the ice a short 2 years ago when he started his hockey journey!  Tyson is a true natural at the game and is amazing to watch out on the ice!    Both boys had a great weekend...each scoring several goals for their respective teams!

 The boys are so quick on the ice it's almost impossible to get good pictures of them during the game...the majority end up blurry:(  Tyson is downright impossible to get an action shot of.:)

Toby and Aiden...these 2 became quite the buddies..they loved playing together.  After every goal (no matter which one scored) they would high-five and hug each other:)

Tyson will be a Squirt when the season starts up again in October!  It is bitter sweet for sure!  To see how much he's grown over the last 4 years is amazing, and we can't wait to watch him move on to the Squirt level, but the Mites are where it all started and has provided us with so many wonderful memories:) Aiden will be a Mite next season, and without a doubt will continue to amaze us with his improvements and love for the game!  We are so proud of both of them!  Love you guys!  Can't wait to see what next season will bring!

Main Street Square shoot-out

Tyson was lucky enough to be able to participate in the annual Downtown Square shoot-out again this year.  They have 8 L3 mites who are assigned to a non-profit organization and they play for that organization in a shoot-out.  The further they make it in the shoot-out...the more money they "earn" for their charity.  It's a really neat opportunity for the boys and they love the chance to "show off their skills".

All of the boys did an awesome job for their organizations!  Tyson played his heart out and never gave up!  Great job buddy!  We are so proud of you!

Skate with the Rush

The Rush had their annual Season ticket holder's "skate with the Rush" after their home game on Saturday night.  We certainly don't pass up the chance to hang with our favorite Rush players!

They let us skate for an hour before kicking us off the ice.  I'm pretty sure the boys could have skated the night away if they would have let them.:)

Playing hockey...at a Rush game!!

The boys each had their own night at a Rush game where they got to show their skills to everyone!  Tyson got his shot on Monday night during the first period break.  The L3 mites actually played against a team from Pierre, which was pretty cool!

Both boys did an awesome job!  Grandma was able to come up to both games to watch them play on the big ice!  Thanks Grandma for helping us cheer them on! :)

Valentine's Day fell on a Friday, and Aiden had his party at school that day...lucky for me it was my day off! :)
