Thanksgiving Finale....Storybook Island!!

The finale to the Thanksgiving weekend was Saturday night when we went and enjoyed all of the Christmas lights at Storybook Island!

It was pretty chilly, but the kids didn't seem to mind!

We were hoping for a nice family picture to maybe put with our Christmas letter this year, but Aiden apparently felt he was done being photogenic!

The big kids enjoyed a tour around the park in the train. Aiden decided to hang with Poppy...I mean-"Grammy-Poppy"!!

I think Aiden shared some of his crazy pills with Aunt Jean!!!

After freezing our tooshies at the park we thought we should stop at McDonald's before going home to warm up...with ice cream of course!

Hey Tyson, I think it's all gone!

Aiden throwin out his new favorite trick from the weekend!

Aiden being the big helper found it necessary to help Grammy wipe her face after finishing her ice cream treat!

We had so much fun being able to spend the long Holiday weekend with the family. We truly went non-stop from Thursday morning until Sunday morning when everyone went back home! Many fun memories were made!

Thanksgiving.....Chuck E. Cheese!!

The fun-filled weekend continued into Saturday when we made our way to Chuck E. Cheese! Talk about a bunch of "kids" (of all ages) having a good time!

Skee Ball was probably one of the favorites!

Aiden and Kyra had their way with the dinosaurs! Isn't he tough?!

Speaking of tough, Brian took on the mighty gorilla and showed him who's boss!!
Aiden took a few rides on the carousel. He is pretty fond of "neighs"!
Tyson took his turn with the mighty monster!!
OK...who fed this kid a crazy pill and then let him get behind the wheel?!!!

And see what happens when you drive crazy......
behind bars you go! Poor guy....he seems so upset!
Tyson and Cade found the air hockey table and had a blast playing against each other!

Right before we were getting ready to leave I look over to see Poppy and Aiden checking out the Chuck E. Cheese dance floor...and we all know how Aiden likes to dance! That's right, he even pulled out the "chicken wing" for everyone to enjoy!

One last pose before we took our craziness out the door!

Thanksgiving......Gingerbread Houses!

Saturday morning we ran up to Aunt Marla's to whip together a few Gingerbread houses. It has become a yearly tradition the Saturday after Thanksgiving, and Marla was gracious enough to let us bring Cade and Kyra along with this year to help with the project.

I'm not sure how many red hots Aiden ate while putting together his house...who cares if they were probably 10 years old!

Tyson and Cade, and Aiden hung in for quite a while before heading outside to play with all of the kids! Kyra was a trooper, though, and finished up all the finishing touches to the houses.
Just looking for some more red hots!!
Notice the 2 pretzels on Grandma's roof...that was Aiden's contribution!
When all was said and done we had a house for the Farewell's to take home, one for us, and one for Grammy and Poppy to take to their house! Thank-you Aunt Marla for letting us join in the fun..and Grandma Brenda for baking the houses for us to use! You guys are the best!!

Thanksgiving....Hockey Game!

Friday was another jam-packed day in our family fun-packed weekend! It started at Midnight when Jeanie, Lex, Kyra, Jessie, Megan, Dan, Abby, Levi, and I braved the crowds
around town for a chance at a good deal. Scott joined in the fun at 1:30 am to stand out in the cold for over 2 hours to try and get a TV at Target...unfortunately to no avail! After some much needed naps it was off to the RUSH game!

I'm not sure if the RUSH ate too much turkey, or perhaps they were up early doing some Black Friday shopping....but it was not pretty. In fact it was their worst loss to date. That's right, we try and take all the family to see an awesome game of hockey, and they wind up losing 8-0!!!! I don't think I've even heard of a score that high in hockey..pretty embarrassing! Not all was lost, though, because there ended up being a lot of fights...just a wee bit of frustration you might say!

As you can see, the fact that they were losing terribly really didn't dampen anyone's spirits!!:) Megan just showing her patriotism...it was military appreciation night!
Trying our best to cheer them on to score at least 1 goal...is that too much to ask? Apparently.....the answer would be "yes"!

CHEESE!!!!

Girls being crazy!!
After Poppy was escorted out....quite the trouble maker....OK, so maybe it was just because he had too big of a lens on his camera (bunch of party poopers) he got some awesome pictures of the game (including the ones I posted)
The whole clan...Megan remarked that possibly the entire Dunbar crew is too much all at once, and hence the reason they lost. She suggested that we split up next time, so as to not be so overwhelming with our craziness!

Nugget got up close and personal a couple of different times.
Tyson sporting his new stocking cap. His other RUSH hat was too small, so was handed down to little bro. (you can see the back of Aiden to the right with his hat on )
As I mentioned earlier, there were a lot of fights...BIG fights! I guess they figured if they weren't going to win they would at least still make it exciting!

A couple of RUSH players were ejected from the game after this particular fiasco....
All in all I think everyone had a good time, even with the embarrassing loss for the home team! Hey, like they say-"You can't win them all; and if you're going to lose, at least make it interesting"...or something like that!!
