Easter Sunday

Easter started early around the Dunbar house this year....as in 5:30am early. Mom was caught "peeking" at the eggs in the living room by Tyson. Like I told him, though, even moms and dads get excited to see where the Easter bunny hides the eggs:) Anyway, after that the boys were both too excited to go back to sleep, so we finally gave in at 6am to come out and let the fun begin!

Tyson wanted to make sure we left the Easter bunny a little snack (carrots, lettuce, and juice), and the first thing he noticed when he walked out was the empty bowl and letter from the Easter bunny thanking the boys for the good treats.

Aiden wasn't quite awake enough to truly enjoy the experience. Case in point the above picture....that would be a scowl!

Tyson, however, jumped right in there and discovered his rain boots which he immediately put on and wore the rest of the morning.

The boys also got water balloons, LOTS of bubbles, a sprinkle toy for the backyard this summer, and of course....candy. After checking out the loot, Tyson quickly went to hunting for the 25 eggs the "bunny" had hid.

It took quite a bit of convincing before Aiden finally gave in and found 1 of the 25 eggs...better than nothing I guess.

Soooo serious.....

Trying out the eggs.

Aiden sporting his new boots. The Easter bunny must have been wanting them to fit for a loooong time, because both boys have plenty of room to grow into them.

Aiden was even running out of them! :)

After a relaxing morning and afternoon naps we loaded up to go watch the Rush play the Fort Wayne Komets in game 5 of their series; with the winner moving on to the next round.

The Easter Bunny even got to go to the game....so lucky!

He even came over and gave both boys high fives!

After a long and physical series the Rush came together and played an awesome game to beat the Komets 6-1!!! The crowd was insane and it was a great game all around!! Bring on Colorado!

Coloring Easter Eggs

The boys colored the eggs this afternoon so the Easter Bunny would have some to hide. They did wonderful work. Aiden was a speedy worker, and clearly had a favorite color....green!

Don't mind their dirty mugs. We had just gotten back home from Rapid City where the "boys" went ice skating while I ran around town getting groceries. We all had an ice cream treat on the way home, and needless to say, the boys had yet to wash their faces!

Oh look...a green egg!!

My adorable...dirty boys! How can you not love those faces?!

Tyson wasn't afraid to mix things up and combine colors for some "awesome eggs"!

Tyson started taking some of the green eggs and dipping them in to other colors to brighten up the mix a little.

Silly boy...it's pretty easy to tell which eggs Aiden colored because every single one of them is cracked or missing pieces of shell. Oh well, I guess that's why you use hard-boiled eggs, huh?!
I'm sure the Easter Bunny will love all of the cool colored eggs, and have all sorts of fun hiding them around our house tonight!

Easter and eggs...and more eggs!

Last night we went up to Tony and Marla's to celebrate Easter a couple of days early. We have started a bit of a tradition of a BIG Easter egg hunt with all of the kids. Big is probably an understatement, since this year there was 375 eggs to be found. (and I'm not even exaggerating!) A huge thanks to Grandma and Aunt Marla for putting a special "treat" in each and every one of them!

There were eggs EVERYWHERE!!!

Aiden even found one in a tree up by the fort with the help of Grandma.

Notice the heavy coats, hats....oh, and white flakes flying through the air. Nothing like 30mph winds, snow and 30 degree weather to celebrate Spring!

This egg took a group effort, as it had fallen in between a couple of huge rocks.

After all of the eggs were found (we're assuming...a final count wasn't done) it was time to go inside and find out what was in all of those eggs.

After all of the eggs had been opened it was time for supper.

As if the 375 eggs weren't enough, Grandma also brought the boys some presents. Gotta love Grandma!

Great Grandma and Cooper had quite the little visit.

Check out those chin......s!!! He's getting sooooo big!

Happy Easter!

Birthday Party #3 at Grammy and Poppy's

This last weekend we went down to Torrington to celebrate Aiden's birthday(for the 3rd time). You can never have too many birthday party's, though, right?! Jean, Brian, and the kids were down as well, and whenever all of the cousins get together you know there's going to be FUN!! It was a beautiful weekend, and the kids started early Saturday morning with some bubbles. Aiden was the designated "bubble popper". He had a blast chasing them all over the yard.

It's a pretty serious job....

Aiden definitely enjoyed his job. He probably should be nominated for employee of the month:)

Tyson is always up for a little B-ball...and I do mean ALWAYS!!!

Look...it's my little "Air Jordan"!

Meanwhile, these three boys were taking part in their own little parade. Diego and Harley even joined in on the fun.

Grammy showed Tyson her skills on the court...she gave him a run for his money!

Aiden getting his work out pushing Cade around on the wagon.

Grammy must have been pretty tough on Tyson, because he soon decided it was time for some wagon action.

Too much sunshine....went straight to Aiden's head....AGAIN!

Diego appears to be hiding from something. Hmmmm...I wonder from what?

Ah-ha!! Aiden loved chasing Diego all over the yard. Not so sure how Diego felt about it, however.

After lunch we went over to the softball fields for some friendly baseball. Aiden even got to play. Every time he hit the ball instead of running to first base, he would chase after the ball and try to get to it before Tyson. I guess we'll need to work on that a little.

Looks like a high pitch.

Grammy getting some little guy lovin!

"Grammy-Poppy" got to be the horsey...and boy did Aiden have fun at the rodeo.:)

Before heading back to the house Poppy decided to show everyone how a pro plays baseball. I must say...Poppy's got some wheels. He had Scott chasing him around the bases like a kid after an ice cream truck!

The fun didn't stop when we went back to the house. A big game of basketball ensued while the burgers and hot dogs were being made over the fire pit for supper.

Little guy checking out the lawn mower.

I'm not sure if these three sat down at all on Saturday. They were going non-stop!

After supper we celebrated Aiden's birthday....with another crocodile cake.

Aiden had some red cheeks, ears, and forearms. He didn't wear a jacket because it was so nice out, and his brilliant mother never thought about needing sunscreen. Between all of the dirt and sunburn he looked pretty rough by the end of the night. Put it this way, between all 3 boys Grammy's tub didn't stand a chance!

The boys doing their "funny" pose. Anyone else think Tyson's looks familiar?!

Little guy chillin with some aloe vera soaked skin and milk. What more could you ask for?

Sunday morning started with some famous biscuits and gravy. The boys helped Poppy with the biscuits. There were chickens, buffalo, stars, and circles. Kyra was Grammy's helper to make the gravy. As always, they did a great job!

As promised, after breakfast, Poppy took the boys for a ride on the lawn mower.

Aiden wanted nothing to do with the "rides" at first, so him and Kyra just ran along behind.

It wasn't long, though, before he decided he better try it out and see what all of the excitement was about. The rest is history...from then on out he didn't want to get off. He was all smiles.

"Go past, go past (aka-fast) Grammy-Poppy!"

Everyone had a blast at Grammy and Poppy's. We weren't even out of Torrington, when Tyson told us he was sad to have to leave, and Aiden is already asking when we are going back.
