Run or Dye!

Ever since Scott ran in the mud run a few weeks ago, Tyson has been itching to be able to run a race with his dad!  It just so happened that the Run or Dye was being held in Rapid City, so Scott and Tyson signed right up and counted down the days until the big day!  Tyson was so excited to get his running shoes on! :)

Before the color started flyin!
They each received a color packet in their registration bag, and they wasted no time in "coloring" each other before the start of the race!

As you can see...they had pink and orange:)

Tyson's looking a little suspicious!

Waiting for the "start"
Grandma Brenda came up to cheer on the boys as well as Aunt Marla and Mason and Cooper, so we had quite the cheering section!  Aiden and I decided to cheer for this one...maybe the next one we can all do as a family!
showing off his "ninja" moves...and blue tongue!

working on the finishing touches

And they're off!!

They ran through a wall of pink dust right out of the starting gate

making it through the "blue" station....Tyson is hiding behind the guy with the pink headband

rounding the corner to the finish line

Woohoo team Dunbar!!!

Great race...we are so proud of you!
After the racers finished they had a "dye festival" where the racers could celebrate, and they threw out more dye packets into the crowd.  Every 15 minutes or so they would "color the sky" and do a big countdown...then everyone would throw their dye into the air...it was pretty cool!

getting ready for the big countdown

Tyson and Scott are in the middle of all that mess!

Getting an "atta boy" from Dad!

The 2 athletes and their 2 biggest fans!

There were around 5,000 people who did the race, and Scott and Tyson had a lot of fun being able to do it together!  We are hoping they have it again in the next couple of years so we can all do it together!  Great job Dad and Tyson...we are very proud of you both!

Gulches of Fun!

Scott had to work a few hours early Saturday morning to get ready for the Sturgis Rally in a couple of weeks.  He was home by 10am, and we grew a wild hair and decided we needed to do something "fun" to fill the rest of the day!  Scott had never been to Gulches of Fun with us...so the decision was made!  We got there around noon, and wasted no time testing our skills at a little mini golf!

Tyson starting us off!

Check out that form!

I'm thinkin Dad missed the memo on the "mini" golf!

First attempt at a good picture of the boys....fail!

Second attempt...well...it's better!

Showing off my "super skills"  as I talk on the phone and take a swing:)
Next it was on to the bumper boats!
I'm thinkin these 2 were getting ready to gang up on their Dad!

"Gotch-ya!"

Dad trying hard to fight back!!

The "aftermath" of the boats...just waiting in line at the Go-carts

Taking the corner like a pro!

Look out!  Tyson is sneaking up from behind!!

Trying my luck at the bumper boats!

Not workin out so great!!! Talk about being ganged up on!!!

Trying my best to fight back while getting ready to take a shot from Aiden

We were there for over 4 hours and I'm pretty sure the boys could have went into the night, but Mom and Dad were pooped.  After all, Dad had been up since 3:30am, so we called it a day and headed home.  We stopped in Sturgis and had Subway for supper and topped off the night with dipped cones from Dairy Queen.  It was a great day!

Wall Celebration

We headed down to Wall for the annual Wall Celebration last weekend.  We always make sure to check out the parade on Saturday morning.

Just waiting for the parade to start

Aiden...and his headphones:)

Check out the brave boy in the headphones actually taking part in the parade instead of running as far away as possible so as to not hear the noisy sirens from the firetrucks and ambulances!

We worked in Mom's garden the rest of the day, and Scott and I ran in town Saturday night for a couple of hours while Grandma Brenda hung out with the boys...thanks again Grandma! :)  We left to come back home early Sunday morning, since Grandma Brenda was heading to Aunt Amy's for a week.  It was a quick but fun weekend as always!
