Giant Pumpkin Festival

We have made it a tradition to attend the Giant Pumpkin Festival at Downtown Square.  This year was no different.  We were there right at 9 am when it started, so we could watch the Steven's and Central high school's Drum Lines.  The boys..and Scott and I...  really like watching them show off their stuff for the crowd.

After the musical entertainment, it was off to watch the pumpkin chunkin.  School of Mines has teams that build their own contraptions that will fling pumpkins across the field.  It's always a fun event to watch.
all of the teams lined up

there's a pumpkin high in the sky

and there it is on the ground:)

We always buy the boys' pumpkins for their jack o lanterns at the festival, and look who we found helping run the stand!!!
Guess who?
That's right....Riley Wesloeski (defensiveman for the Rapid City Rush) and one of our favorite players!  Grandma Brenda will be soooo jealous! :)

Grandma's 3 favorite hockey players!

We finished off the day with lunch at Shooter's.  It was crazy busy downton, and you could hardly make your way down the streets, so we decided to head back home early.  We considered the day a big success though, after getting to give knuckles to Riley! :)
