Easter Eggs

Since we will be going to Aunt Amy's and Uncle Terry's for Easter we decided to color our Easter eggs early.

Aiden wasn't too excited at first but he slowly warmed up to the idea and jumped right in there.

It should be no big surprise that most of our eggs had the #'s to our favorite hockey players on them:)

They worked hard and whipped up 20 eggs in no time at all.

Tyson made sure and made an egg special for Grandma...#6...Riley Wesloeski, of course! :)
Don't worry...we wouldn't forget about Aiden's favorite player...
that's right...#21....Conrad Reeder!! The boys did an awesome job, and had a lot of fun in the process!

Happy Birthday Mason!

Mason celebrated his 4th birthday a couple weeks late since Cooper was sick when his 1st one was supposed to be. It certainly didn't damper the party spirit! The weather was amazing, and all of the kids had a blast playing outside, and most importantly, riding 4-wheelers!

Marla made his cake and did an awesome job! I wanted to hire her out to make Aiden's but she wasn't jumping at that chance, so I guess I'll have to fend for myself! :)

There were a few games set up in the garage that the boys started off playing, but the fun soon moved to outside where the 4-wheeler was. Mason got his very own for his birthday and all of the kids took turns taking if for spins around the driveway.

Aiden loves their little Hummer, so he started off in it...until the battery ran out. : (
Mason chasing Aiden down the driveway!

Tyson had a blast on the 4-wheeler! He picked it up really quick...the only problem was that he was probably on the upper end of the weight limit and had a bit of trouble making it up the small incline in their driveway. He didn't mind though...he quickly learned how to compensate and went around like a pro!

Aiden, on the other hand, had some learning to do. It was tough to remember to keep his thumb "gently" on the gas, instead of pushing it periodically...resulting in him "jerking" around the loop.:)
Needless to say....Dad kept pretty close to him to ensure a safe trip!

All the cousins getting ready to sing "Happy Birthday" to Mason.
After cake and ice cream it was time for the "big" 4-wheelers to come out, and the Dads took the kids on a quick ride around the neighborhood.
It was a great way to spend a Saturday afternoon! Happy Birthday Mason!

Weekend at Grammy and Poppy's

The boys were in need of some good ole Grammy and Poppy time, so we packed up our bags and headed down to Torrington for the weekend. The weather was beautiful, so we took advantage and spent most of the weekend outside.

Driving the lawnmower has become a favorite activity, and since it hadn't been used since last fall it took a little "tweaking" before it was ready to go. Tyson jumped right in to make sure Poppy was able to get it running.
Meanwhile, Scott and Jesse worked on their discus skills!
Before long the lawnmower was up and running! Poppy was celebrating the accomplishment! :)

Aiden had a blast on the lawnmower! He had a perma-grin the entire time he was on it! :)

Saturday evening we celebrated Aiden's birthday...a little early...but any excuse to blow out candles is a good one in our book! :)

Poppy getting some Aiden loves...
and the next thing you know....this is what happens! Don't worry....no Poppy's were harmed in the making of this blog post! :) He hopped right back up and was ready to go!
We even went in town and found a park to play at for a while.
Aiden getting a little back-up from Aunt Abbie on his first try up the climbing wall.

Weeeeee....down the slide they go!!
Check out the big boy....making it up all by himself!
Sunday morning we had our traditional biscuits and gravy before heading back home. Aiden jumped right in and helped Poppy make the biscuits...which included chicken and buffalo shapes:)
The weekend flew by, and we all enjoyed our time at Grammy and Poppy's...we always do! :)

Mite Awards Banquet

The Rushmore Thunder held their 2nd annual Awards Banquet to celebrate all of the Mites and their accomplishments during the 2011-2012 season. Scott Wray (Left Wing for the Rapid City Rush) was the guest speaker. I apparently was too into his speech and forgot to take pictures while he was talking, so this one was after he sat back down.

They had all of the coaches go up front to be recognized.

They then went through each of the Mite levels and introduced the players 1 at a time and had them come forward and receive their medal.

After the banquet they had all of the players line up for a big group picture.
