Weekend Fun!

Aunt Megan and Aunt Jessie came up for a sister weekend and stayed with us. The boys were so excited for them to come and had a lot of fun getting to play with them!

Aiden liked teasing the girls. He also was really good at sharing whatever he was eating with them. That is if you count him rubbing his dirty little fingers all over them during meal times!

Tyson had a lot of fun, too. The girls would give him grief and he did his best to dish it back. He sure though he was funny!

We decided to all load up this morning and head to Reptile Gardens to check out all the cool animals. It was pretty hot and crowded but we still managed to have a good time!

Dad and Aiden checking out the bird show in the shade!

After the snake show you could go up to touch the big snake. I wasn't sure if Tyson would want to or not, but him and Dad walked right up there to check it out. I wasn't able to get the actual picture of him touching it because of all of the people, but I'm his witness that he did-a couple times even!!

Aiden liked checking the turtles out with Jessie.

Everyone taking a peek!
Check out this snake wrangler!

And not to be out done!!

But I believe Aunt Megan took the cake for silliness!!

Aiden chillin in the shade for a bit!

Following the alligator/crocodile show they had a baby alligator that the kids could pet. Just like with the snake show, there were a ton of people, so it was hard to get a good picture but both boys got to pet it!

Before leaving we checked out the Giant tortoises.

Aiden givin a little love to the old guy!

We noticed after I took this picture that you weren't supposed to sit on the tortoises. OOPS!! He didn't seem to even notice!

Wall Celebration!

We made a quick trip down to Wall a couple of weekends ago for the annual Wall Celebration! As always, we had to make a trip to the Drug Store for some cheap entertainment.

Where did Tyson go?

Oh, wait a minute...I think I see him!

Look at this excited bunch waiting for the parade to start!

Uh-oh, I think the Fire Trucks might be coming. It was only a couple minutes later when Aiden and Grandma had to go in to the gift shop behind us for the rest of the parade. He was having no part of those "loud" Fire trucks. I guess he has some really sensitive ears!

Tyson wasn't taking any chances either....this is pretty much how he stood the whole parade. It didn't seem to slow him down any, though. We still came home with a sack-full of candy!

The Venjohn's waiting for some more candy!

Toot-Toot!!
"I think I can still hear the Fire trucks Dad."
All of the boys had a lot of fun down at Grandma's getting to play with each other. One of the highlights had to be the grasshopper hunting on Grandma's front deck. Unfortunately, I don't have any pictures of that (actually, probably a good thing!) Let's just say the beasts had moved in so we armed the boys with fly swatters and they had a hay-day!! Anything they can do to help out Grandma!!

Happy Fourth of July!!!!

I can't believe it's already the Fourth Of July!! Summer is going to be over before we know it! Well, I guess that means we have to live it up while we can! Tyson was so excited all week for this day to come. We had loaded up on fireworks and Brandon had asked him to ride in the fire truck again this year at the Piedmont parade! He counted down the days, and even went as far to say that this was his favorite holiday (even beating out Christmas!!)

The day was a little cool and wet at times, but that didn't damper the fun! We started with the parade.

Here comes Tyson! His job was to throw candy out and wave at all the people. He did a wonderful job and was nice and conservative on the candy!

Aiden, like last year, was not a big fan of the firetrucks and all of the noise they brought along with them! He seemed to recover a little quicker, though, this year...thank goodness! We were even able to check out the trucks after the parade!

Quite the two man crew!

After a much needed nap for the two boys we headed over to Brandon and Lyndee's for the annual 4th of July picnic. There were a lot of kids and everyone had fun playing baseball, football, and the favorite-volleyball. We started out just the adults (men vs. women), but it quickly became a free for all with children. The women's team quicly turned from 6 adults to about 7 kids and 6 adults. Let's just say we had the court well-covered! There was no keeping score-just a lot of fun!
Jim and Glenda have become great friends of ours, and we have spent a lot of great times together....the six of us. Unfortunately for us they are moving back to Pittsburgh in a week, so we made sure to get a group photo (minus Brandon who was working hard to get the fireworks set up for the big "Barn" fireworks show)
I don't know about you, but I think Tyson is a little excited for the fireworks!
Aiden could have cared less about the fireworks-it was the Cheetos that kept him busy!

Aiden's favorite part were the smoke bombs and snakes which we had plenty of (I'm thinking it was because they were nice and quiet). The bottle rockets and squealers were definitely at the bottom of his list for enjoyment.

Jim and Glenda were great with our kids, and they love them like family. I'm sure they will miss getting to see them as much, and wrestling and rough-housing with Jim! As Jim has taught them all to say: "Peace Dude!"

Blog Palooza! Take 7: Happy Father's Day!!

Dear Dad,

We just wanted to tell you how much you mean to us. We thought to make it fun we could make a "Top Ten" list of things that you do that make you the best Dad in the world!!

10) Play baseball with us in the back yard.
9) Go on bike rides all around Summerset.
8) Give us "knuckles" for any reason at all.
7) Make us your world famous biscuits and gravy on the weekend (now that we mention it-it's been a while....guess what we'll be requesting for next weekend?)
6) Let us help do chores around the house to feel special....even if it means you have to follow right behind us and do it again.
5) Take us to fun places like Bear Country and Keystone so we can explore new things!
4) Read us books....all the time.
3) Play Wii with us and letting us win.
2) Loving Mommy more than anything in the world.
1) Loving us more than anything in the world.

Dad, you really are the best, and Mommy says all the time how lucky we are to have you! Hope you had a great Father's Day!! We love you!!

Love,
Tyson and Aiden

This year Dad picked to go to Keystone and ride the chairlift to the President's Slide. We didn't do the slide on the way back down because we didn't know how the boys would do. It was really cool, and I think next year we'll be ready to brave the slide!!

This was on our way back down. Aiden made sure and waved at everyone that passed us on their way up!

We had lunch at the top of the hill before going back down. It was a beautiful view.

Dad and his boys.
Dear Scott,
Everyday I thank God for blessing me with you to share my life with. You have given me the two most beautiful and wonderful boys! I can't imagine a better Dad to help raise them. They love you so much, and look up to you as their hero! I couldn't think of a better role model to help mold our boys into amazing and loving young men!
I love you,
Angie
