Putt..Putt..

We figured since it was supposed to be 100 degrees today, we might as well go crazy and spend it outside playing mini golf!! We actually went this morning, and between the breeze and all of the shade from the trees it wasn't that bad at all. We actually had a really good time!

Aiden took a little while to warm up to the idea...see picture below!

It only took a couple of holes, though, and out came the club a swingin!!

Amazingly he didn't lose the ball in the water. Tyson had a bit of a mishap, however, when his ball hopped over into the water. Thanks to Dad though, who risked his dry clothes to go rescue it from going over one of the waterfalls! Way to go Dad!!

As I was saying...Dad still golfing with dry clothes!!

Tyson did really well, and was so close to getting a hole in 1. He'll be all over it next time!

Yep, your ball is supposed to go in that hole!!

Look, there it goes again!!
Aiden, in his usual style, was not having any posed pictures. Tyson, in his usual style, was!!!!

Instead....I had to sneak up on the little guy to catch any pictures!

Little guy was starting to get pretty hot by the end, so was taking a little break to try and cool off!
We made it through the course without over heating, and were even lucky enough to win a free game and a dollar off per person coupon for the next time we go....can't wait!!
The boys got a treasure bag when we left..could you tell!! AAARGH!!

Oh, I almost forgot to mention that Mom was the big winner with Tyson coming in second! I guess we all know where that leaves Dad in the standings!! It's OK...better luck next time Dad!! We'll be ready for the re-match!!

Buzz Cut!

The time had finally come.....my little boy got the "buzz cut". His hair was getting pretty long, and I just kept putting it off. Dad couldn't take it anymore and out came the clippers!!

He did much better than I thought. He actually thought he was pretty cool! He's watched Dad and Tyson cut their hair this way several times, so now was his chance to become part of the "cool group".

We cut it on the longest setting, so it really doesn't even look like a buzz cut-much to Mom's excitement! I just don't think I'm ready for the real buzz on my baby boy!! Maybe next year he'll get the shorter setting.....we'll see!
And the final results........
What a handsome boy!
Dad and Aiden showing off their fresh cut hair...pretty handsome, if I do say so myself!

Chuck E Cheese!!

It's become some what of a tradition to go to Chuck E. Cheese before Brian Jeanie and the kids go home on Sunday. This time was no different, so off to Chuckeee's we went.

So cute!!

This basketball game is probably Tyson's favorite game to play, and he is getting pretty darn good at it!

Look at that concentration!

Takin'a little cruise with our good pal Chuck.

This gorilla game was another of Tyson's favorites. He would play it on max and was able to hold on the whole time. It vibrates the living day lights out of you. I don't know how he did it. I've done it before and only made it half way through the torture before giving up! I know....I'm tough!!

Doin' a little racing!!

Skeet ball is at Dad's top of the list of favs! He ended up getting the jackpot of 126 tickets by scoring 480,000 points. GOOOOO DAD!!

Birthday Party!

Tyson turned 6 years old on August 14. It just so happened that his cousins from O'Neal were up to visit that same weekend so we had ourselves a little party to celebrate. He also had a party down in Wall on the 11th, but I unfortunately didn't have my camera for that one. It was a bit impromptu, but included a Dairy Queen ice cream cake...can't go wrong there! Grandma Brenda, Aunt Janet, Spencer, Drew, Great Grandma and Grandpa, and Aunt Amy were at that one to celebrate!

Brandon and Lyndee and the girls came over Saturday to help celebrate. We grilled some burgers and had a little cake and ice cream.

Avery and Aiden are pretty good buddies!

Check out the hockey stuff.....

..and the remote control helicopter! Who cares if it's already broken and won't fly. It's the thought that counts, right?!

We tried getting all the kids around the table to sing Happy Birthday...notice anyone missing?

Yep, that would be because little guy doesn't seem to like all the hub-ub!
Instead, he could be found here.......

Make a wish!!

Happy Birthday buddy!

Happy Birthday!

Dear Tyson,

I can hardly fathom the thought of you being six years old already! It truly seems like yesterday we were bringing you home from the hospital at a mere 5lbs. I guess time flies, and oh how we have loved watching you grow into the bright, thoughtful, and loving young boy you are becoming. We feel so blessed that you our in our lives.

In just a couple of weeks you will be starting Kindergarten!! My little boy will be walking into the unknown, and as "nervous" as you have said you are-Mom and Dad know you will do great!

You have grown up so much over the last year. You are always eager to help and "do chores" around the house. I don't know of too many 6 year olds who mow the entire lawn for their mom and dad no matter how much we try to talk you in to letting us help you out! There probably aren't too many kids that empty and load the dishwasher either. These are just some of the things you do without even being asked to.

You are so strong and determined. You truly can do anything when you put your mind to it! You absolutely love sports, and are a natural at every single one you've tried. I can hardly wait for a couple of months when you try hockey for the first time!! You have been talking about it for months and can't wait to get out there! Mom, Dad, and Aiden will be your biggest fans always and forever!

Aiden is also very lucky to have you as a big brother. You help teach him knew things, like riding the little trike that was yours when you were his age. And we can't forget what a good job you do of reading him books at bedtime. You are so patient with him, and we love watching you play together! It's funny...I can't even count the number of times you've had to help Mom and Dad decipher his words so we knew what he was saying!! You are not only his brother, but also his best friend!

Tyson, we love you so much, and can't wait to watch you grow and learn even more for many many more years to come. Happy Birthday big boy!

Love,
Dad, Mom, and Aiden

70th Sturgis Motorcycle Rally!

Brian, Jeanie, and the kids came up for a quick trip during the last weekend of the rally. Brian heard Disturbed was going to be at the Buffalo Chip, so we got tickets and the 4 of us went up Friday night to have a little fun!

We got up there a little early, so were able to walk around and check out the sights at the Chip.

It's getting close to show time!!

Check out these three party animals!!

It was a really good concert, and I actually knew more songs than I thought I would.

All in all it was a good time. We finished the night by stopping downtown, but by then these old timers were getting tired, so headed for home around midnight! Pathetic.....I know! Oh well, at least we made it through the concert:)

Who knows, maybe next year we will really go crazy and stay out until 2am....OK...maybe 12:30am!!

Shadehill!!

We spent the weekend camping at Shadehill. This was our "second annual" get together with Heidi and Randy and their kids and Aunt Diane. Mom, Janet, Spencer, Drew, Tony, Marla, Mason, and the four of us had a wonderful time. The weather was absolutely beautiful when we got up there Friday evening.

The women took all the kids for a walk after supper to play at the park while the boys stayed back and....well I'm not sure what they were up to?! They were missing when we returned. They apparently went on their own walk through the campground and made friends with whoever would talk to them!

Mason and Colt had brought some of their toys up, and they all enjoyed playing with them around the campsite.

We roasted some hot dogs for supper...it's a must when you're camping!

As always, there was no shortage of food .

WEEEEEEE!

The mosquitos were relentless! The smoke from the campfire wasn't even enough to keep them away!

The highlight of the weekend was when we took the boat out Saturday morning and got in some tubing before the clouds and rain came!

Uncle Tony and Dad had to give a test run on the tube before the kids got on.

After the test run, we all loaded on for a ride. Aiden and Tyson love being pulled on the tube! I think they could have stayed on it all day had the weather cooperated.

Look out-crazy driver!!

The clouds started to look a little more ominous, so we decided to go back to shore. Randy and the boys mentioned something about the "sisters" riding it back in together. We should have known there was an alterior motive! After several tries to throw us off and a few close calls later we finally made it to shore.....still on the tube!! Better luck next time Randy!!

In between the rain storms the boys had a lot of fun playing in the water along the shore.

Saturday evening we celebrated Drew's birthday with a super hero party! The boys had a lot of fun with it.....that is, everyone but this little guy....

He wasn't all that convinced it was a good idea.

Tyson, however, was Batman and played the part well!

Aiden gets a bit camera shy and refused to look at the camera for the group picture.....so modest!

Aiden gave Mason a little ride around the campsite on Saturday night. We didn't stay around the campfire much, because the already obnoxious mosquitos were 10 times worse after all the rain we got that afternoon. Let's just put it this way...it's amazing someone in our group didn't end up with West Nile. Everyone was covered with them! Aiden is apparently very sensitive to them and had enormous welts all over his body!! He looked miserable!! Thank God for Benadryl!

It may not have been filled with sunshine, but our weekend at Shadehill was great! We can't wait to do it again next year. Thanks again Heidi and Randy. Count us in for next year!!
