First Day of School!

Can it be true?  My baby is going to Kindergarten!  I can't believe how fast the years have flown by!  Nine years in the blink of an eye!  Tyson just turned 9 and will be a third grader, and Aiden turned 5 in April and will be starting Kindergarten!  I officially have no more "helpers" on my day off! :(  The boys were pretty excited the first day.  In fact... Aiden had been counting down the days until he got to go to school like the big bro!

My babies...all grown up!

Looking sooo big!

How is he already 9 years old?!
Scott took the day off, and I just worked a few hours.  We both took them to school.  We first walked Tyson back to his playground, and it only took him 10 seconds to spot the kickball game and he gave a quick good-bye and was off!  A huge improvement over his first year in Kindergarten...we are sooo proud of you buddy!

We then walked Aiden to his playground.  There were soooo many kids!   His playground consists of the 1st and kindergarteners!  Considering there are 104 kindergarteners alone...you can imagine the chaos! They actually split the Kindergarten classes the first week to help them adjust to the new environment, so Aiden only went to school on Monday, Thursday, and then the entire class went on Friday.  Aiden was a little overwhelmed, and just hung close to us.  When the bell rang all of the kindergarteners and their parents went to the old gym, where the teachers read a quick book and then we had to say goodbye!  Aiden was so brave!  You could see he was scared...and very nervous, but he never shed a tear!  He hung close to Miss Weiss (his teacher) and off they went to their classroom! We are so proud of you little Wez!   I'm not saying that this Mama didn't shed a tear.....or maybe a hundred on her drive to work! :(

I then went to work for a few hours, before coming back home so we could meet them at the bus.  They were the first 2 off, and big brother was right there watching out for him, and making sure he didn't cross the street until they got the ok from the bus driver.  Such a good big brother!  Once they got the ok...the race was on!
Check out big brother's hand on Aiden's shoulder...keeping him safe

and they are off!!

They both had soo many stories to tell!  So grateful they both had a good day, and just hoping the rest of the school year can be just as good!

Boise trip - part 4

Thursday was our last day there, and everyone was pretty tired from a very busy week, so we took it easy and decided to take our time in the morning before heading to the beach one last time for a little fun in the sun.  We had a mini photo session before leaving for the beach.

We made it back to Janet's in time to have ourselves a little birthday party!  We started with the oldest cousin and worked down to the youngest, lighting the appropriate number of candles as we went and singing to each person before they blew them out!

That night was the boys' first performance of Les Miserables, so we all headed to Nampa to enjoy the show!  It was awesome, and the boys did a great job!  We got a few pics of the budding actors after the show.

It was around 11:30pm before we made it back to Janet and Jason's.  We set our alarm for 5 am to get on the road to head back home...so it was a short night!  It was sad to say good-bye after having such a wonderful time, but we hope to see them again in a few months.  Thanks again, Janet and Jason for showing us a great time and allowing us to basically take over your house for a few days! :)  We had a blast!  Love you guys!

The boys did really well...again!  We made it all the way to Thermopolis where we had a hotel room for Friday night.  We never saw any animals through Yellowstone going, or coming home.  It was after we made it through Yellowstone that we saw some wildlife...right next to the road!!

There were 2 cubs right in the ditch digging in the dirt looking for bugs.  We stopped just long enough to snap a few pics.  There were cars lined up all along both sides of the road to check them out!  They could have cared less!

Sooooo cute!!
We made it home Saturday around 2pm and the boys were very excited to be home and with Dad again!  It was a great week, and we all have memories that will last a lifetime.  Me and the boys can't wait to go back for a visit...and take Dad with us! :)

Boise trip - part 3

Tuesday was desigated as a "beach day"!  Janet and Jason live only 3 miles from a beautiful beach area, and since it was over 100 degrees we thought getting a little water time would be perfect!  The boys wasted no time in swimming and building sand castles.

Tyson and Drew talking things over.

Aiden went straight to work building his castle

The 3 big boys were like fish and spent the majority of their time in the water

Aunt Marla helping the boys out with the construction

Tyson busy making a moat around  his castle

All of the boys busy working together:)

CHEESE!

Lovin the sand!
There was also a nice play area right behind the beach area, so the boys would go back and forth between playing in the water and playing in the park.  We had picnic tables right in between the two so it was perfect for being able to keep an eye on everybody.
Aiden getting ready to try his luck on the rock wall

Silly sisters! :)
We spent around 4 hours at the beach before heading back to Janet's for supper.  Spencer and Drew had dress rehearsal again, so Janet, Mom and the boys left for Nampa at 4:30 pm while we laid low with the boys at the house to recover from our long day!

Wednesday just happened to be my baby's birthday...I can't believe he is turning 9 years old already!  Since we hadn't been together for any of the boys' birthday, we decided to make Wednesday the "birthday" day where we would celebrate everyone's birthday!  We  made a cake that morning and then headed to Wahooz...an awesome amusement park that had bumper boats, go-carts, bowling, and much more.  What better way to celebrate then getting to run around crazy and play all sorts of fun games!
chillin...or something...before heading to Wahooz

Nice form Aiden!
We spent 4 hours at Wahooz before heading back to Janet's for supper and the boys and Mom and Janet headed back to dress rehearsal.  We ran out of time to enjoy our cake before they had to go, so we saved it for Thursday, so we could celebrate properly!
