Grandma Brenda came up last night to stay with the boys, so we could go to Scott's Christmas party in Deadwood. It was an early morning, so we could make it back home to get Tyson to his hockey game this morning at 9am. Aunt Marla and the boys also came out to watch Tyson's game, and we decided to all check out the new Downtown Square. We got there around 10:30am and they had their "hockey skate" for grade school kids. Scott went out with Aiden, and Aunt Marla went out to help Mason.
Tyson, of course, hopped right out there and started skating up a storm!
Meanwhile...Dad and Aiden had to get their skates on so they could join in on the fun. They don't have skates small enough for the "little guys"; instead, they have little double bladed doo-dads that you strap on to their shoes. Dang things kept falling off, but overall Aiden and Mason did a great job!
Marla and Mason checking out the ice. Marla had never ice skated before, but has roller-bladed, so picked it up pretty fast.
Dad and Aiden still working on his skates!
Finally...they hit the ice!!
There were quite a few falls, but both boys would get right up and keep on going. By the end of the time they were actually doing really well maneuvering on the ice.

Our two "hockey boys!"
Time for a little "face-off"!
They all skated until 12:00pm, when everyone had to get out of the rink for the Zamboni to clean up the ice. After the ice was ready they had just an "open-skate"...no more hockey pucks or sticks sadly:( The boys went back out for about 30 minutes before finally deciding they were tired and hungry, and ready to go.
Santa was there, so Tyson quickly stopped in to make sure and put in his order for Christmas (a "real hockey net") Aiden, on the other hand, was less than thrilled with the idea, so hopefully the letter we sent to the big man will suffice:)
